The City of Winnipeg is inviting residents to learn more about the history of our city by taking part in the travelling Winnipeg 150 Archives Tour.
From now until the end of the year, we will be displaying historical panels and images about Winnipeg in different public places around the city.
“Winnipeg’s 150th anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate our rich history and the diverse stories that have shaped our city,” said Mayor Scott Gillingham.
“The Winnipeg 150 Archives Tour offers the public a chance to connect with our past and gain a deeper appreciation for the vibrant community we are today. I encourage everyone to visit the exhibit and learn more about our shared history.”
The first stop on this tour is in Garden City, in the Old Kildonan ward.
“I’m excited that my ward is playing host to this important display of Winnipeg’s history,” said Councillor Devi Sharma. “It’s a great opportunity to learn from our past as we move forward trying to make our city a better place to live and work.”
